Great place for budget minded travelers. I find tbe Boulevard to be clean, comfortable and safe. Probably not many foreign tourists find their way to Hopelchen or the Boulevard. Everyone is friendly, very helpful once they realized I can speak Spanish. Many people seem shy of outsiders at first. Lots of nearby restaurants and places to shop for basic need. No tourist oriented shops that I saw. I feel very comfortable here. Just regular people, no hype, no BS. Highly recommended for folks who want to get off the usual tourist trail.
